Magnetic Strip Reader (MSR)

MagShell series consists of a mini USB magnetic card reader and a dedicated software with or without database as well as SDK package for developers want to easily integrate the MSR with their access control, time keeping or other application. MagShell 900 is a manual swipe reader, 3 tracks, bi-directional, and portable which conforms to ISO 7810, 7811, AAMVA, JIS & DMV format, All ISO tracks supported. It communicates with a host PC or a terminal via a standard Universal Serial Bus (USB) 1.1 interface, and requires no external power.

MagShell 900 main characteristics:

  • Read and convert RS232 magnetic data
  • Bi-directional card swipe and read capability
  • Single, dual and triple ISO track decoding
  • Audible response- for good read "1 beep", missing data "2 beeps" and non-successful read "3 beeps"
  • LED indications- LED Off: sending card data; Green: stand-by/good read; Yellow: missing data; Red: error
  • USB interface, no external power required
  • Compact size - can be mounted on keyboard or any flat surface
  • TWAIN compatible

MagShell - Magnetic Strip Reader is available in three formats: Reader only, Reader with Software/SDK for developers, or as a package with ready to use database application.

IDscan software allows magnetic information to be promptly stored to a text file or being sent to a web server via FTP offering an easy to use and self explanatory user interface. SDK is a Software Developers Kit which consists of a set of libraries that integrates MagShell reader with your own application.
